Unlike larger management companies, our homeowners and guests communicate directly with our local Telluride-based team every time they call, email, or text. As owners of Basecamp, Jim and Jenny Carlson remain actively involved in the day-to-day operation of the business and are included in homeowner communications, ensuring every property receives the attention, accountability, and oversight it deserves.

With decades of combined experience in property management, vacation rentals, maintenance, construction, and real estate, our team is uniquely positioned to help homeowners protect, improve, and enjoy their investment while delivering exceptional experiences for every guest.

Jim Carlson | Founder & Owner

Jim Carlson brings more than 20 years of experience in property management, construction, and homeownership services in Telluride and Mountain Village. As a licensed General Contractor and founder of Basecamp, Jim has built a reputation for exceptional property care, quality craftsmanship, reliability, and trusted homeowner relationships.

Known for his hands-on approach and proactive communication, Jim is committed to helping homeowners protect, improve, and enjoy their investment. His extensive knowledge of construction, maintenance, and property management allows him to provide practical solutions and expert guidance at every stage of ownership.

A longtime Telluride resident, Jim is deeply involved in the local community and has volunteered with Search & Rescue and youth hockey programs. When he's not caring for clients' homes, you'll find him enjoying everything the mountains have to offer, including skiing, snowboarding, mountain biking, climbing, hunting, hockey, and spending time with family and friends.

Jenny Carlson | Co-Owner & Vacation Rental Director

Jenny Carlson brings more than 20 years of experience in Telluride's vacation rental and hospitality industry, along with a deep passion for travel, guest experiences, and the Telluride lifestyle. Her expertise in vacation rental management, marketing, revenue optimization, and guest services helps homeowners maximize the performance of their properties while delivering exceptional experiences for every guest.

Prior to joining Basecamp full-time, Jenny served as Senior Vice President of Sales & Marketing for a leading Telluride lodging company, giving her extensive knowledge of the local vacation rental market, industry trends, and revenue strategies. Today, she oversees Basecamp's vacation rental operations, ensuring every property meets the highest standards and every guest receives personalized, attentive service.

Jenny is actively involved in the Telluride community and has served on the boards of Rascals/Rainbow/Rockies and the Palm Arts organization, supporting the Michael D. Palm Theatre. When she's not helping homeowners and guests, she enjoys skiing, hiking, mountain biking, running, playing hockey and soccer, and spending time with family and friends in the mountains she proudly calls home.
